As an introduction to the actual list itself we have detailed the work we have done to compile the Bronze Medal Award List and what the requirements are to become a bronze medal winner. Unlike many other awards, the requirements for attaining a medal are strictly defined. This means hosts wishing to appear on this list will know what they have to do, but just as importantly consumers will be able to ascertain what having a bronze medal signifies.
More details on why we have created the Bronze Medal Award List can be found on our Quality Medal Awards page.
Just to be clear, to obtain a Bronze Medal, UK hosts have to provide a prospective consumer/business with information which they could use to check them out and reliably contact them if the need arose.
We have taken the liberty of doing some work on your behalf. We have examined the website of every host that we know who provides hosting services to UK consumers and businesses. We have found the ones that display their contact details, we have examined their terms and conditions and ensured their privacy policies do exist. For those with contact details we have gone further and looked them up at Companies House's WebCHeck site. From this work we have identified a short list of hosts that we think deserve a Bronze Medal for living up to the expectations of the government. We call it our Bronze Medal Award list, we hope it will help you find the host of your dreams, good dreams that is.
If a host is a trading name for a company, or is owned by another company, that should be made clear and contact details for both the host and parent company should be provided. By providing the above information it demonstrate that those we are thinking of doing business with are professional companies that take their business and customers seriously. While we are sure the hosts not on this list have their reasons for not providing this information, we cannot know what those reasons are and can only base our decisions on the information provided.
All companies in England and Wales are required by law to register with Companies House and are assigned a company registration number. They need to give a registered address and a full business name. We are satisfied that all the hosts listed on this page are registered at Companies House. Where a host is using a trading name but is owned by a registered company, we have checked the registration of that parent company.
