Listed below are those hosts offering co-location services that have also been awarded Host Apprise's Bronze Medal. There are of course other co-location service providers, see the right hand 'Related Pages' links. To find out the meaning behind the Bronze Medal please see our Quality Medals guide.

Many UK hosting providers offer co-location hosting. This is where you own your server but have it housed at a host's data center, thus taking advantage of their rack space, power supply, fire suppression, security, etc. But most importantly of all, is the use of the host's communication links, usually, but not exclusively, to the internet.

Much of the discussion concerning dedicated hosting also applies to co-location, the important difference being the ownership of the server. Its for you to provide the server, manage and administer it; if a device needs replacing do not look to the host to do, its your responsibility. If the server is critical to your business, then having spares at hand will be essential.

Most co-location hosting service providers offer varying levels of service depending on your needs. Again a Service Level Agreement (SLA) will need to be negotiated and an understanding of who is responsible for what established.
